How to Sterilize your Nail Clippers

Step 1

Pour 1/2 cup of barbacide in a small dry bowl and set aside. Barbacide is blue sanitizing solution that is used by hair salons to sterilize combs, razors and other equipment.

Step 2

Pour 1 tbsp. of antibacterial dishwashing liquid on the nail clipper. Scrub your nail clippers under running warm water using a clean nail brush for about one minute. Make sure to scrub the sharp part of the nail clipper which is used to cut the nails.

Step 3

Submerge the nail clipper in the bowl filled with barbacide. Cover and set aside for four hours to disinfect it

Step 4

Remove the nail clipper from the bowl and wipe it with clean dry cloth or tissue.
